Updates and Upgrades to our Scottsdale Quarter Vacation Rental

Murphy's Bridle Path

ICYMI, we’ve been working on giving some of our vacation rentals a refresh. Here’s the post on the most recent update we did. We headed just a few miles north of that rental to one of our others in Scottsdale to give it a refresh too! We bought this house 8 years ago, and it’s been a vacation rental since then. It has served as a really great investment for us over the years. The location is amazing – close to Scottsdale airpark, Kierland Commons, Scottsdale Quarter, TPC Scottsdale, Westworld, and so much more!

The recent updates have this house looking like a whole new place! We started outside, giving the front and back complete makeovers. We added new turf, including a golf putting green, and lots of room to run and play. We expanded the pool decking to give space for lots of lounge chairs for soaking up the Scottsdale sun, and a cute little patio bar set for backyard fiestas.

After that, we headed inside to work on the kitchen. The boring brown cabinetry was painted and refinished. We added new hardware, a backsplash, and gorgeous marble countertops. We also expanded the island to seat more people! The kitchen boasts tons of cookware and a full suite of appliances, so you can grocery shop and dine in during your stay in Scottsdale.

The house used to have a formal dining room that largely went unused. So, we converted the space to a fun bunk room for kids, or just kids-at-heart. There is space for up to 5 guests, and I love how it turned out.

After that, we headed down the hallway to work on the other guest rooms. We gave the 2 guest room spaces an upgrade with new bed frames and beds, sleeping 4 guests each on 2 plush queen beds per room. In the master suite, we went big and brought in an entirely new bedroom set and seating area. It’s complete with a must-have white boho-style ottoman for all you Instagrammers!

If you’ve been keeping track, you know that this house now sleeps 15 guests in total! Here’s the breakdown:

  • Master Bedroom: Sleeps 2 (king bed)
  • Double Queen Room: Sleeps 4
  • Double Queen Room: Sleeps 4
  • Bunk Room: Sleeps 5 (each in a twin bed)

This next upgrade is one I’m particularly excited about – with more and more guests using ride sharing as opposed to car rentals, we decided to expand into the garage. We put in all new refinished floors, and added tons of games and activities! You’ll find a dart board, pool table, foosball, and poker too! We enjoyed visiting the flag store in Old Town to choose flags for our fav teams to adorn the walls; I’m certain it will be a fav for our guests too!
